try reading this link by keithXtream, excellent comparison write up

as far as the hossfeld goes. ive use one but not for bending tube.. it is known for tube bending for sure but is also designed for various types of metal bending forms that protools and JD dont.. probly the main difference there...

The PT105 will only bend round tube, pipe and square tube, whereas the Hossfeld will bend that as well as flat bar, angle and channel both the easy way and the hard way. The Hossfeld is a quite old design, but it works well and can be used to form numerous shapes. I guess it boils down to what you want to do with the bender. If you're only going to be bending tube, then the PT 105 will do a good job for you. But if you want to be able to bend other shapes too, then the Hossfeld may be the way to go. Of course you'll have to buy the appropriate dies for each size no matter which one you go with.

Also think about if any of your friends have a bender. Makes it so you can share dies.

they have some prices on there starter kits, i'm sure you would have to contact them for more item detailed prices...

my only other comment on this issue would be exactly as captainfab said...
although i use JD2-3 with no complaints...
