Right now the truck is in a holding pattern. As I stated earlier in the post, this truck is a project that is supposed to help drum up business. It's part of my marketing plan. While I want to get back to work on it I am also quite happy that I don't have time for it right now.
I did a giveaway out at the local dragstrip about a month ago (as suggested by an OFN reader in another thread) and it turned out to be a great move. On the night of the giveaway, I set up a little booth and brought out my Samurai that I built last year. I didn't know how well the Sammy would be received at a race function but it was the only thing I had ready to go that showed off any of my work. People loved it and I got a lot of complements on the quality of the tube work.
So now, thanks to that giveaway, I'm in the middle of building a 8.50 sec '67 Chevy II. I'm doing all the chassis, cage, and interior sheetmetal work. The owner of the car is a successful business owner who is willing to spend what it takes to do the car right. For me, that means getting my name out there on a high quality car. I'll try to start a thread on this car sometime this week. In the mean time the International is sitting patiently waiting for more attention.
