I will not not have a booth at Goodguys. I hate to rant but the Goodguys are pathetic at customer service. The woman in charge of selling vendor space was about as inept as anyone I've ever dealt with. I could not get her to return emails or phone calls. When she did finally call me all she did was complain about how she has been at an event every week and did not have time to deal with me.

I should have an ad starting in their mag this month. The woman who sells the ad space was actually very helpful but I haven't recieved a bill for the ad yet so we'll see how they do on it.

I'll be at the event though. I still love the cars and the people. Look for the Hot Bob's shirt.

Right now the truck is in a holding pattern. As I stated earlier in the post, this truck is a project that is supposed to help drum up business. It's part of my marketing plan. While I want to get back to work on it I am also quite happy that I don't have time for it right now.

I did a giveaway out at the local dragstrip about a month ago (as suggested by an OFN reader in another thread) and it turned out to be a great move. On the night of the giveaway, I set up a little booth and brought out my Samurai that I built last year. I didn't know how well the Sammy would be received at a race function but it was the only thing I had ready to go that showed off any of my work. People loved it and I got a lot of complements on the quality of the tube work.

So now, thanks to that giveaway, I'm in the middle of building a 8.50 sec '67 Chevy II. I'm doing all the chassis, cage, and interior sheetmetal work. The owner of the car is a successful business owner who is willing to spend what it takes to do the car right. For me, that means getting my name out there on a high quality car. I'll try to start a thread on this car sometime this week. In the mean time the International is sitting patiently waiting for more attention.

Bob
