Mower powered mini jeep

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I like the forum, I'm into mini sized vehicles, I've got one on the go right now and ideas for a few more.

Here's my Jeep

Being my first real project I wasn't sure how it was going to work out so ended up being built very cheap, just a bunch of riding mower parts I had laying around the shop.

that sucks, if your gonna be part of the OFN, you need to do better than that.

Nah, "I dig it". It looks pretty sweet, I'd love to see more.

Everything was built from scratch. Did all the CAD work myself and got it laser cut. I'll put up some build pics soon.

Not starting any more projects till this one is done but on the list are;

Power wheels size jeep, just like this one only smaller and powered by a 50cc 2 stroke.

Mini tank, if I can find a toasted zero turn mower to give up the drive train.

This one's not capable of much yet....

It has no suspension, just the air in the tires, more for putting around the yard, maybe pull a trailer, that kind of thing. If I could find a quad to donate some parts I'd do it differently, maybe next time.

Well, there it is... Aaaahhhh the memories.

Powered by 8hp briggs, 5 speed mower transaxle. Wheels are not mounted to transaxle but will be driven by chain and sprocket to live axle. Brakes and steering parts will be salvaged from an old snowmobile, lawn tractor spindles in the front with go kart hubs and adapter plates to match up to rims. Tires are 26-12-12.

Try a golfcart rearend, they are pretty cheap and have rearing options. If configured correctly you can get a gasoline engine that will start and run only when the gas pedal in pushed. Figure on spending about 800.00 fora complete cart with a bad engine.

I've got a line on an old harley with a rebuilt motor. Once I'm done this mower powered one, I plan to start collecting parts for a "new and improved" version.

Not too much to update. just been collecting parts. I haven't had any spare time this fall, I've been preparing for my journeyman Millwight exam (just finished, passed ). But now the snow's here and I've got a long list of things I've been neglecting. This is always the worst time of year for me to try to get anything done
