I was going to make my break with the springs on the ends just like that. But changed my mind, at least for a while.

Build it yourself, cheaper and gives you that sense of accomplishment.

Break out of the press.

3/16th x 24" Not bad. But buying angle is easier.... (meaning, I need an air/hydro jack)

Thats cold rolled......P&O has a black finish......

Nice new toy, careful, you can become addicted to CAD.....too many ideas and too little time! Now I really like the second one, I am going to try and make a roll this weekend if the Delrin gets here in time!

Here are a few picts. of the bender I built. It will bend 3` wide .25" easy. There really has always been a sense of accomplishment when I build my own tools, when they work. The only problem with me is that I find that I have more fun building the tools then what I built the tools for. I think thats because I get to keep the tools and the projects end up with somebody else.

I built my own 20 ton press, then built a bender modeled off the NT bender.

It can bend 3/8" x 6" about 20 degrees or so (most I've ever needed it to go) or 3/16" x 22" or so to 90 degrees. Very useful tool.

Can't post pics, why not?

Al

Because you suck!! Just kidding.....

You have to be a "member" to post pictures, but you can post a link if the picture is hosted somewhere else like Photobucket, myspace, craigslist....

How do you get to be a member, there's nothing in the FAQ about it that I was able to find (while at work, didn't have much time to look)?

Thanks,

Al

you can just host the pics yourself also. just use a photobucket or gmail pacasa site.

That's a nice setup you have there! I was looking at that bender in northern tool. I haven't decided if I would like to buy it, or build one like some of the others on here have.

I had some 4" x 1/2" flat laying around and built my own. Took a couple hours and it works great. Material wise I have maybe $50 into it with springs and such.
