Welding Table Reworked

I pick this table up for free but it needed some help. The legs are black pipe and someone in the past thought it possible to weld the screw on flanges to the bottom of the table. There were also bolts through the table but those had been cut off on top and came out with a few taps from the small hammer pictured. None of the legs were true so they had to be removed. I was able to pull one leg off by hand as the welds had failed. Not sure what the flanges are made of but a test bead run proved them not to be weld friendly. So I then removing all the legs, cutting the ends square and getting them all the same length. Once I had the legs tacked back in place I then added a 1.25" square tube frame around the bottom. I will be adding some crossbracing to create a shelf. To finish things off before I flipped the table back upright I welded on some mounting plates and bolted up a set of casters.

If you've got enough friends they're free !

We had a couple bright ones try and steal one of those plates up the road a few days ago... I was gonna call em in but watching 2 idiots try and pick one of those up was worth the enjoyment !!!
They weren't very successfull

I got my casters from enco. They are the larger ones with the brake, and I got free shipping (coupon). Could not ask for better casters. They look like the same as what you got.

Pic 1

Pic 2

6"x2" Steel w/poly outer. 2/3rds weight on all the time and they will not flat-spot. They roll good on grinding dust too

Table looks good! I have my legs cut-out and a 4'x5' 3/8" top I plan to use just haven't had the time, and currently no room for a bigger table
Having EVERYTHING on casters sure is nice I`m sure youwill love it
