If it will do 1.75 x .120 easally I would think the 2.0 x .120 would be fine too but I would really like to know it I could bend 2.0 x .250 easally???

I think if you tried 2.0x.250 in a #105 the only thing bending would be the bender itself! I would not risk it. I have bent that heavy walled tube in a cheapo' HF pipe bender and it did fine, but only for slight bends in suspension links.

Thats what I was affraid of. Thats why I have been considering the bender form Trick tools. They claim to be able to bend 2.0 x .250 in thier bender but for some reason I have been a little hesitent about that bender. maybe because it is new to the market.

I was gonna go down that road but I was told that those cylinders with the built in air pump and reserviors wouldn't work well on their sides. I guess you've proved that wrong. HF has that same air/hydro ram for under $80 I think.
I like the clamp on the cylinder....that worked out well.

Yup, just keep the air pump pointed to the floor so is doesn't get starved of oil, and you'll be fine. Several people on Pirate4x4 have used a variety of air/hydro pumps, including the HF model, and I haven't heard of any not working when installed correctly. Some have said that the air pumps wear out with heavy use, but I've made 100's of bends without problems so if it quit tomorrow it has already paid for itself 10 times over.

Cool, thanks for the replies. I figured it wouldn't be a long lasting decision, but would work in the mean time until I decide to pony up the cash for the good stuff.
Thanks

I made it.
I went to the steel supply and rooted through all their drops to find a piece of tube that would slide over the ram. I got lucky and found a 2' piece of .250 wall that fit perfect. I first cut a 5" long piece then cut a 1" slot down one side. I then took some 1.5" x .250" flat stock and cut a couple 5" lengths, clamped them together and drilled three 5/8" holes evenly spaced. I bolted a 1" spacer between the bars and laid them along the slot I made in the tube, ran a couple good beads, and PRESTO! a big azz clamp!
To mount it to the bender, I found a smaller .250 wall tube that the bender arm bolt and sleeve fit into and welded it square on the end of the clamp with a gusset.
Here's some older pic's that show the clamp.

Nice job on those clamps. Very clean.
Do you see a way to install a pressure gauge on the hydraulics in order to duplicate bends easily?

I love your setup.. went to HF and picked up #94562 ram.. Sucks HF wouldnt honor the 20% coupon.. said it was not valid
36lbs seems like a lot just hanging off one single pivot bolt.. have you had any issues with it?
Thanks.

Hey rkcrler. You happen to know the diameter of the Ram you picked up. I was going to try and hit HF up tomorrow and pick on up.

the article states..."You can not use these these on the harbor freight website and you are limited to one item on the coupon. They do however work on sale items :)"
and the coupon says something similar, which is probably why it didn't work online. Seems like it should work online, that would be convienant.
