re: Project: Gravelmaker!
I got a nice set of 49's that would look sweet on it
Actually, I may have found a set of 406's that may hold up to em for my buggy... :)

re: Project: Gravelmaker!
It's pretty hard to get a flat when you run 0 psi. Double bead locks and 0 psi sounds like the hot set up if it works out ok. That might take care of the side wall stiffness, but what about tread stiffness? As long as the tread conforms to rocks, then you are all set. If I could get them for 75 each, I would groove them like crazy to get super flex and save a lot of unsprung rotating weight.

man.. i cringe every time this thread comes back up..
theres is no progress. It's collecting dust.
well i guess thats not entirely accurate.
the c6 has been ditched for a c4. currently im waiting for my shorty c4 kit and klune-v to get here. as soon as they arrive im gonna assemble them all and get em in. after that the tranny tunnel/firewall will be reworked for more legroom.
as soon as that's done i'm hoping to get back to work a little more seriously on it once again. all 4 2.5 airshocks are here. all the links are fabbed. the suspension is ready to go together. i just need 1) time, 2) SPACE. my dads gotta couple projects that have been piled around it that HAVE to MOVE before i can touch it.
I'll try and take some pics of the links and such tonight, just so it doesnt look sooooooo much like i've been slacking.

Lincoln 225AC buzzbox F/S
i swear... i have been dooing something!!
re-worked motormounts for optimal foot room, also have decided that the headers need to run backwards. freed up a bunch of room this way and should help a ton with heat. drivers side will wrap around the front and tie in to the pass jsut below the header, single out. please ignore the current PS pump.
motor just squeaks in there. still up in the air if im going to run this intake setup, or swap it over to a mustang style.
c4/klune/205 tight lil package.
what better way to lay to rest those old POS dana 44's.
all lined up and ready to go..

the adapter is actualy the advance adapters c4 to atlas shorty kit. IIRC it shortens the c4 14". takes some mods to the klune to make it work, but its very doable. writup here. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...ghlight=shorty
as for overall length i dunno.. didnt measure it. its 2" longer than c6/205 and 4" shorter than c6/klune.205
i'll try and get a final overall tonight for ya.

Welding table 101
Cool project $ceep. I'm curious about the ride height? Is it going to be a lot taller than in your current pics?

trying to figure out the suspension at the moment. From the looks of things so far i think i have it dialed in to max static height of 7'2". its tall. but thats not too bad for 48" of rubber on portals. with any luck i can get that down under 7'.
even at 7'2", with the unsprung mass of the tires and axles it should still be damn stable.
