Someone asked about a build thread before, he has now posted one on the Samba with his ideas and some of his pictures. Here is a link.

Starting on a hitch for the Double Cab. Needs some more bracing due to the drop. Drop is to line it up with the bumper.

Mufflers will hang off the cross member, so it needed to be there first. Tips and hitch will go through rear bumper.

Thanks FrogDog!

Working on the exhaust, these down pipes look simple, but they have been very challenging so far.

The build looks fantastic. Why are you running cats on the old bus exhaust?

The cats are the owners request. I wanted to run without them, because it would have allowed room for a true X-pipe, but he wants to be as environmentally friendly as he can. That was his reasoning as he described it to me.

Cats need good a/f ratio to live. Is he running EFI? I like the v-bands.

Ya he is running the stock EFI system I believe, and then getting a custom chip made to suit his vehicle, since it isn't exactly in a 911 anymore, and the exhaust is very different. So I think the A/F ratio will be alright. He has all the stock 911 stuff to go with the motor, computer and all that.

And the V-bands are great. They make it so simple to pull the exhaust apart. I will likely push these on every exhaust project I do in the future.

I added some more bracing in the rear, got the exhaust re installed, and mounted a clutch master and slave cylinder.
