In that picture the chain is a little long too... The length was just a guess as I was building the tensioner. Since that picture I've removed a link from the chain and now I have room for the chain to stretch some....

Are you going to skin this?
Thinking at warp the fling off the front wheels could be a beach

On the far left of the picture you can see the chain coming down from the engine, it's rolling around a sprocket sitting between two pillow block bearings. Connected to that via the u-joint is the reverse gearbox. In the center of the pic you can see the driveline that connects the reverse gearbox to the rear axle in the far right of the picture.

I finally got it all welded together and took it out to the sand for the first time!!! Still not done or painted, but safe to take out and play..

I ordered some paddle tires, the sprint car tires didn't quite cut it....

Here's a video my friend took from inside his custom buggy, you can see me bouncing around the dunes and then get stuck when I blew a corner on a tight trail.. Good thing I had a come-a-long in the trailer!!!!

Such a cool build, I have a few questions;
Did you come in under 'budget' (less than a side by side)
What reverse box is that?

Thanks
