No expert either but so long as you have enough pressure I wouldn't worry about flow, personally I'd prefer to have more GPM than needed,it's easy to regulate your speed with a manual spool valve, personally I would never use an elec spool on something like this or a press for that matter,on/off is just not precise enough...if your down on flow and need to up RPM's then being able to feed the pump enough is key,it's all simple really if you think it through,I'm sure what you have will work fine..oh and as said Gear and vane pumps are not very efficient really, pressure will fluctuate even between hot and cold operation

This should be a link to the eBay auction for the pump I bought for when I get a JD2 32 and fit a hydraulic upgrade, it's rated at 55bar and is approx 1kw 230V motor,

Im Back!

Hey peeps Im slowly back at it on this long over drawn out simple project !1 .. Winter time im always wheeling on the weekends so even though we didnt get much snow this year we still went looking... Very sad year for snow in Washington... well at least lower Washington State... So as the weather gets better its time to chill and get back to it.... i started cleaning all the dust off everything and finished my weld in bungs for the res tank and mounted my splitter valve. So now im ready for fittings and hoses....

In the diagram is shows running a filter and a pressure guage as well so i need to get on that. Also going to run some quick disconnect to the cylinder so that should work good..

I hear you an the Snow!
Just enough to make the roads nasty and not enough to bother wheeling! Though we did get freezing rain but that just sucks nomatter!
Winter is over at this point and so is my wheeling for the next 8-months
Guess I need to get to sorting out what VFD's I want where.

Hyjack off

I have a couple vertical mills that I'm finally getting to the point of setting back up... thinking one is going CNC so may as well set everything the same.
