Extension Cable Plugs

I'm having a heck of a time finding a simple NEMA 6-50R connector in the same style as a typical 6-50P.
Find the surface mount all day, but I want to build this cable a little cleaner then just hanging a metal box on the end.

Oh, and I would like to price to be in the $10us bracket

I couldn't find one either so I just made mine with the stupid box hanging off the end. They exist though, for example:

That would work nicely; but it is about 300x over priced!
Yes I know I just don't want it bad enough

Can't change the male end of the plug, it voids the warranty AND want to standardize the various boxes on the floor as much as possible...
Learned yesterday, the Red box will require its own circuit due to being rated over 40A and maxing over 80A.

It is always the details that cause you to step back and look at the whole picture.

Half the shop has one plug and all the new stuff has another

Bought a 6-50R Box for a tic less then $15, the other end for under $5 and $50+ for the 3/10 cable.
I'll put it together tomorrow and that will be that.

Are you doing 30amp max? I think 50amp calls for 6awg. My 220 circuit is 30amp and I run 3/10 also on my extension, but if i had a 50amp circuit I might bump it up.

Everything I plan on running with this cable is under 20A, & so, #10 gives me enough cushion.
