How not to build or buy a car trailer

I had a guy who'd driven 12 hours straight from Townsville QLD rock up to get my son James final Golf cast off last night. He arrived just on dark & the car was loaded. Except he lost control of it. The trailer floor was pointing down hill for some reason, & the Mk4 rolled too far forward, smashing his large tin toolbox. He jumped in to move to more level ground, when I noticed the trailer was dragging on the ground under the toolbox. These pics in daylight tell the story. He went back empty handed ($800 round trip), so I think I might have a trailer to rebuild & sell, plus a Golf (which runs),to flog for parts. Shows you really need to look UNDER a used trailer before you buy it like he didn't poor guy. Lucky it happened in my driveway. Imagine going over the ranges (at night) and it fails. What do you do then? Or of course what if there'd been an accident? Woulda bin really serious. Beware the car trailer with fresh black paint I say!

That's not what I would call welded.

It's really scary knowing the types of homemade or so called modified trailers that are out there on the roadways with your loved ones.
