Miller diesel question

I have a Miller 300 pro with a cat diesel motor. This is the first diesel motor I have owned besides my tractor.

It is time for an oil change. Can I use Mobil 1 synthetic oil in it? I have always used synthetic oil in all my gas motors, I just don't know about diesels.

Thanks

Steve

Diesel engines use detergents in the oil because of the great deal of soot and combustion byproducts. Through blow by it gets in the oil. Viscosity and service designation are what to check for. Look at the API doughnut to see if your oil is good for diesel engines. The service designation will start with an S or C. The S is for gasoline ( spark ignition) and the C is for ( compression ignition)

What he said. It's hard to go wrong with Shell Rotella T for diesels.

Red face

Double check in your owners Manual if you don`t have one down load one.

We use 15/40 in all our diesel welders not sure of the brand off the top of my head

I agree with Wyoming9, better double check with your manual.
