wow a not so new new guy

hello everyone. name is daniel, i am 29, run a fabshop in central pa, about 30 minutes west of penn state university and do mostly lumber drying equipment and timber industry fabrication.

been into hot rods, offroading and welding since i was 12.

i recently bought out the founder of the company i worked for building drykilns. the shop sits on 10 acres with a house my wife and daughter are moving to. we have a 30' by 120' main shop building with 20 foot ceilings and doors, a 50' x 120' secondary shop area with 10 foot ceilings, and a 40' x 60' shop area with 15 foot ceilings. there is also an office we are turning into an apartment and a regular 20' x 20' garage we use to park the welding rig, some random equipment, and keep our sand blasting sand in. the main shop is currently under going a complete over haul.

we have a cnc plasma cutter, press brake that bends to 1/2 inch, mill, lathe, iron worker, hyrdo box pan brake, hydro shear, tubing benders, sand blasters, welders, a lot of specialty tools, anything for fabrication really. in addition we are a steel and alum dealer. we figured that if we really needed something, we didn't want to be at the mercy of suppliers and other trades

the shop has been around since 1964 with the same owner so you can imagine the treasures i keep finding and the 40 odd years of filth built up in the corners. its a great place and a wonderful adventure trying to work in the shop, remodel the house, overhaul the shop, move in to the house, and work my other job to pay all the bills.

all that to say i have been lurking around this sight for quite a while and over at pirate4x4 since college. i try not to post much on the internet but i really like offroadfabnet.com. looking foward to reading more learning more and contributing where needed.

so that's the sort of long version of who i am and what i do thanks for reading and if i can help, let me know.

Welcome to the OFN

So you're staying busy with the timber industry? Around here that has all but completely died.

Post some pics when you get time.

timber is slow. so slow i had to all but shut the shop down. no employees, just me right now. but thankfully i know how to do more than just build dry kilns. right now i manage a building supply and hardware store.

i don't have a ton of pictures on this computer. but i will post a few
