Source for small diameter tube?

I need to make some mounts for seats and pedal assemblies where I'd like to bolt through some square tube in my chassis. My thought would be to strengthen the bolt by welding in some round tube (with an ID a tad larger than the 5/16" bolt OD) through the square tube. But I can't find any locally, and don't really want to order 12' online. Is there a good online source for small tube, or is there a term specific for this type of application that I am missing?
Thanks in advance!

I've had pretty good luck with Speedy Metals. They ship pretty quickly and are generally 20-30% cheaper than McMaster-Carr on small quantities. Here's a link to the closest thing I saw to 5/16" ID, would need to be drilled slightly over the 0.310" ID.

That would be my vote also. I've seen short length round steel spacers at the local hardware shops too.

One thing to be careful of with the spacers is McMaster says they may be 12L14 material. It can cause difficulty with welding...here's what Jody at weldingtipsandtricks.com has to say about it:

Same day shipping from Misumi. They refer to something like this as a metal collar.

For aluminum spacers, I like Widgetco.
