Well I'm not here for a build update but to share some sad news. My community was hit a couple months ago by the worst disaster canadian history has seen. my home was one of the 2600 lost along with all my projects. Insurance is not covering much (2000$ cap) so needless to say you won't be seeing much from me for some time, took me years to get to where i was. RESTORATION INSURANCE is a MUST cause despite what most people will say, its not covered much under your home insurance. WARNING images are disturbing.

Oh man, I am so sorry! Did you and your family escape uninjured? Did you have any warning / evacuation period to gather up some of your personal effects?

That is just devastating.

That sucks. I lost a bunch of stuff in a fire this spring, some irreplaceable, but most of my tools were elsewhere.

i had enough time to load my supermoto, grab our computer, passports and birth id's, envelope off cash and a garbage bag of a little bit clothing for every household member. We had very little info from the city and when the evac was finally called, houses were already burning. I had a feeling it was gonna be bad so i sent my family south a ways morning of. It was a bit of a struggle for me to get out cause i stayed behind. Honestly didn't think my area would burn, lol but it did.

Gees Skegg - I'm so sorry for all you've lost. I cannot imagine how challenging things must be for you looking ahead. We take so much for granted until a devastating loss like this. Deepest concerns from Oz mate, as you no doubt need to be a strong leader for your family. Thank goodness they weren't injured. If you have any kids, how are they bearing up? I will genuinely be thinking of you in the weeks/months ahead as you try to get back on your feet. I honestly don't know how I'd handle such a blow myself.
