When I was building the Chumpcar Camaro I needed a dash. I did a past project from a guy that works at Boeing. We had a piece of scrap from a test wing from a F117. Looks like carbon fiber with a bronze tint and feels like porcelain. Very dense. Something like 80 layers and is only about a 1/4" thick. Had to use carbide tip saws to cut the stuff.

This may fall into the category you were looking for. I needed a tv stand for for my flat screen here at the shop. Used scrap aluminum that was under the shear and some tube from the bucket. Nothing special but it worked.

Been doing a lot of little projects for under a $100 since the shop burnt down. Since I am sharing a space at a fellow friends shop I did not want to drill a bunch of holes into their floor so I could work so I obtained 2 semi trailer brake drums from a repair shop next door to my old shop and rummaged through the scrap pile of Porsche rotors from the new shop I made two stands for just labor time few fasteners and 1 can of Blue Rustoleum. Crafty and cheap!

Also here is an High Rail track Anvil I made 3 years ago for the welding book I helped with. It was $30 for the piece and was able to make two anvils. One I kept and the other I gave away. Painted it red after the fire just to make it look better. It has come in handy more times than I can remember.

It did not fare so well in the shop fire. It was on top of the box and after the FD spayed everything down with their foam it seized the slide to the frame. All the rounds in the clip popped off and messed up the magazine. I did not have a round chambered. I soaked the gun in a rust inhibitor but to no avail. Would not budge. Now it is just a Kimber Custom II paperweight.

A bicycle Surfboard rack, about $30 complete.
My son lives a mile from the Huntington Beach pier.

This little part stays on all the time
