Yes. It will allow me to tip the chassis in one direction. The other if I swap the braces front to rear.
Im designing it to tip a bit past 90 degrees, this and some wheel chocks under the 1/4 circles should do it.
This idea is not novel, lots of VW guys do it.
This guy went super simple. The chassis is VERY light. I can fairly easily pick up either end on the jackstands.

I tipped a Honda Car 90° one time...
Used a ditch and pond slime instead of silly wood tippy thing
Forgot the rear-view mirror, but 78 Cvic's with the CVCC option in 78 were way light two of us tipped it back over and I drove it home

That's funny e. I've done something similar for a VW baja bug and an old FJ40. Always fun to upright a rolled vehicle and get her underway again.

Finished up the tiptisserie the last couple nights. I had to make some adapters for the OE bumper supports to bolt to the 2x6s which took some time. It also took some adjusting of the plywood 1/4 circles to be able to tip it up by myself. Its still pretty hard to get up to 45 degrees, but after that its easy. I think If I just shorten the legs a little that might be enough. Anyway, its up now. I did put a tie down to the wall just for extra safety, but its very stable.

My daughter (10) and I have been picking away at the undercoating. Shes love scraping it for some reason. I think she put in a hour maybe and I probably have 1.5ish in so far. So I feel like its going pretty quick.

I figure I still have about 4 hours for just the stuff in the interior of my project... I probably wont tip it over.
I rather dislike the job, does she want a good paying job after the VW? My daughters are all growed up and the Grandkids haven't reached the go scrape the tar out of the Bronco Stage quiet yet.
Ya, I know, I'll get back to scraping, next week sometime

Im sure she'd love the money, but I think airfare would make it less than cost effective.
At least this stuff is quite soft and rubbbery, comes off fairly easy with a sharp scraper and heat gun.

After about another 4 hours Ive made it to here. I picked up a fine brass wire wheel that Ive been using to clean off any undercoating left by the scraper, its working great and doesnt harm the factory primer. Ive also realized that I dont need to scrap so much off as the wire wheel works so well. That seems to be saving a lot of time. Im sure Ill have a method perfected just as Im finishing.

These updates are pretty boring, but anyway, put in another 2 hours last night, made pretty good progress.

That sounds like Porsche undercoating. Not a fan of it...I had to remove some from my neighbor's car to do some work. He later found that a Harbor Freight multi-tool (like Fein only cheaper) with a scraper blade did a real quick job of scraping it off.

Its the exact same stuff. I think ever german car uses it, I know my buddy had the same stuff on his E30.
Its awful.
Good call on the oscillating tool. I happen to have one and will def be trying it soon!

This car will never see snow again. It may not even see rain, unless she gets caught in it.
Basically I want to be sure there arent any surprises and make it nice nice.

So Ive been swamped with 873498 other projects but Ive managed to get in a couple nights scraping undercoating lately. The floor is just about done now along with one and a half wheel wells.

hah, is that good or bad?
Got a bit more done last night.
Removed all of the metal clips that held the fuel and brake lines to the chassis. Im glad I did as each had a bit of surface rust under it.
Also finish up most of the area under the rear seat. I just need a new wire wheel to get the last bit in the corner.
The rear wheel well is about 90% done. Just need to get around the edges.

So all that white was factory under the undercoating?
I would say if that's the case that was a very effective method from the manufacturer.
