Well from the weathered look of it, I'd say it's been around for a while, so apparently it works and serves it's purpose
What's the saying....Necessity is the mother of invention....something like that.

Check out the red "handicap parking permit" in front of his rear view mirror. He doesn't look disabled in the least.

You can tell he is just waiting for someone to build another one, so they can race.

Come and listen to a story about a man named Wang
A poor rice cook, everybody said dang,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin crude.
Oirl that is, brack gold, Texas tea.
Well the first thing you know ol Wang's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said "Wang move away from there"
Said "Cariforna is the prace you ought to be"
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.
Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars.
Well now its time to say good by to Wang and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in.
You're all invited back a gain to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality
Hillybilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off.
Y'all come back now, y'hear?

It is a very cool piece and should be in an Engineering Museum . Seriously.. it has the whole evolution of land travel as we know it all built in one spot, from the modern gas engine, the wooden frame, down to the caveman style oxen cart frt wheels. , steel spoked rear wheels ,belt drive jackshaft gearbox combo, runnin boards, convertible top..right down to the one chrome item on the car.... the headlite/ drivin' lite..I bet he even has a cigarette lighter in his pocket..! its cool ,an' he's cool for puttin it all together.

I just dont get how people do that. Just because you own a stick welder does not mean that you can "fix" anything. It would have been easier to put that tub on the 3/4 ton chevy frame they took all that stuff from.
My favorite is the Skoal Bandit logo that is drawn on the side. I think the pink backround really "Sets it off"

Heck thats one of the better looking ones at Haspin they actually used metal. I have seen then with cages built from wood or PCV pipe. Its amazing what the poor folk can come up with to have fun with.
