Im not sure what gage it is but it's about .040 or .050 thick, bent in a brake and later flared the holes.

Nethawk, yes I take paypal....and MrBi11.....I dont need to do another buy in, since I have already bought in.....

But my price on those dies is almost $100 Cheaper than anyone else......Thats $290 plus flat shipping of $15.00

They are wildly popular at that price.....

thanks,

I bet I sell 1x to 5x 5 piece sets a week.....Light Racing has to special order larger orders for me.....I even had 12x 1" dies in stock, because for some reason the 1" is the most popular single die

I havent used these that much lately. Did use them on the rear seat brackets for a customers X chassis. They will be used A LOT in this build to keep with the desert racing theme.

I ordered the five piece set today. Peer presure. "I learned it from watching you"
I would also be interested in the larger dies if they become available.

How long does shipping take? I need to get a press before they get here...

From what Light Racing has been telling me, they have work out thir stocking problems....and should always have them in stock, most all sizes.

I have about 6 of the 1" ones in stock, but I dont have the large ones......I am pretty sure Light has them though....

Welcome to the dimple di gang.....

are there dies for the press to cut the hole for the dimple dies?
the hole saw is kinda $hity. Will the burs from cutting the hole screw up the dimple dies? Is there a low cost and or low tech way to cut the hole cleanly? HELP!

I just hit the holes with 90 degree die grinder and a flexible pad.....you can plasma them, there are dies out there to punch holes.....Greenlee makes some Iran smith sells them, but they are as much as the Flared dies.....http://www.irvansmith.com/catalog2/p..._punches.shtml

I know the hole saw sucks but it is the best way for those of use who have no other way....I even have a debur tool with those hook blades and it does real well.

I have not had the burrs do any damage to the dies so far.....

I eventually want a Turret Punch press like this or auto....http://cgi.ebay.com/DIACRO-12-STATIO...QQcmdZViewItem

what about the slight ovaling of the hole from like a not so straight hole saw?
will this affect the flare or die?
If when cleaning the burs if I take to much material how bad will this affect the flare or die?

No, I have even used the wrong size hole saw...granted the flare does not look as good but it still does its purpose.....

It will take a lot to damage these dies....

scootek, your fab skills are so good... if you start putting flared holes in things, I am going to turn green!

NICE! I feal better now, I was drilling some test holes and was freaking out that I was going to be screwed if they were not perfect. I just ordered a 12 ton H frame press, hope it will do the job. Thanks Keith.
