Is this the welder that you used to build this buggy?

I have a Riland plasma cutter and yes it looks the same as all the others that came out of that factory in china. I have had it for over a year now and it works great so I guess I'm lucky. I did swap out the regulator that came with it as it kept leaking but I can't complain and yes, it all came down to price. I run Miller on the Mig and would do the same one day for Tig but for a home shop I cannot complain.
It's funny how everyone on here says Big Blue or Red or nothing. Some people have a need and can't afford the big name.
I can only say the China model worked for me.

Yes I would love to buy American 24/7 but sometimes American is too expensive for this American.

By the way, I run the Miller 180 which for me handles my needs. Does Miller make a sub $2000 Tig that is a good home shop machine? No major production but I do want to do aluminum.
Thanks

As a matter of fact, I just saw brand new MILLER ECONOTIG's for $1650.00+ free shipping & MILLER SYNCROWAVE 200's for $1993.00+ free shipping on
e-bay, so as long as you don't require more amperage than these machines produce, you can still buy BLUE for under TWO!

the Diversion would be the ideal machine for 90% of the work most would do at home IMO , it welds aluminum pretty good as well seem them demo it on Muscle Car one weekend , granted it was in the hands of a pro from Miller it still performed very well and with more amperage adjustment then the Econotig i,d look at it first IMO or the 200 which i have and really like , a little light on the duty cycle at high amps but still a killer machine for the $$ the pulse feature is very cool

I have had a parker 40 amp dual voltage for 2 years it does what I need as a hobbyist no complaints. I also have an Everlast 200 ac\dc pulse tig. I am new, so I don't have great welds to show. I have not had an issue from either unit. Not the greatest things since sliced bread though.

China import units any good?

Just my $0.02. I sold and serviced China import units for over 10 years from several makers and if you plan to by a TIG welder for a business or want to work one hard try to spend the extra money for a NON China unit and write it off on your taxes. It will be a crap shoot if your China unit will hold up under high duty cycle use. There are some models that have weak points that will fail every time when the units are pushed hard. If you have returned your unit more than twice because of a non operating welder change the model of your unit or get your money back. I have owned a 250 amp TIG only China unit and it took everything I could throw at it then I took in a non operating non China machine and was able to repair it and am still using it and it works great several years later. The customer who bought my 250 AMP China unit says it's been good so far.
Thanks for letting me speak my $0.02

Looks awesome!
I'll give it a try for some work I'm planning to do on some excavators.
