need acad 09 help quick!

My computer crashed the other day so now I am frantically searching through the system in DOS trying to get everything off of the HD before I wipe it and re-install the OS.

My problem is that I cannot remember where auto-cad saves the .dwg files. I know its buried somewhere in the depths of the system in some random folder but I have been searching and cannot find it.

If someone could help me out with the file path the acad 09 defaults to that would be great!

Since you know the file extension (.dwg) and you are in DOS, move to the root folder (type 'cd \' - without the quotes, and press enter) and then enter the command:
dir *.dwg /s

That should list all files with the DWG extension and their location.

Glad you found it...
Now, when you set up the next system in the document folder make a folder that is named ACAD and save everything there, makes what you are doing so much simpler in the future...
