You need to clarify what exactly you're blasting.
I have no real experience personally other than a very small over the shoulder set-up from Sears. It works to get into inside corners and light sandblasting. Using a 10 cfm compressor I run out of air within minutes.
My race truck was blasted by a pro. He told me it took approximately 5 hours. He uses a portable large compressor and large pot. My guess on his cfm is 150 to 250 cfm and the pot holds somewhere in the 1/2 ton range.
