When I was considering a table I estimate that 95% of my parts could be done on a 2'x2'.
However, I came to the conclusion that 25 by 50 (Travel) would be the right size.
I came to this size because 24" was a good size to have the steel vendor shear to and 25" travel lets me cut that and the 50 because I can cut a full 48" long (again shear size) and depending on the shape up to 55" long.
You are not the only crazy one

I finally got smart and decided that I could easily farm-out my small volume and have a cleaner shop at the same time. AND thus, the best size is whatever someone else had!

When did empirical knowledge get replaced by a theoretical education?
